Maico Pictures

These are two bikes previously owned by the Swedish GP rider, Åke Johnson.
The first picture shows Åke's 1976 model later sold to Lari-Jukka Peltomaa,
Leksand - Sweden. The rider on the picture is Lari-Jukka.

The other pictures shows the 1977 pre production model that was never raced by Åke but
has some modifications that Åke confirmed is his. The bike should have Öhlins shocks but
they are beeing restored at this moment so Lari-Jukka has fitted the Corte Cosso junk
back there. Åke switched to Kramer and only used this for off season practice.
Some mods includes: drilled brake pedal, Name stamped on steering head, heavily ported cylinder and lightened crank. The owner states that the bike revs like crazy and doesn't remind
much of a stock maico. It's very strong and a bit hysterical but tons of fun.
